A very
merry & happy Christmas to all our Friends |
 |
Hey Ho it’s that time of year again! We are sure you all feel like us that time is speeding up. It doesn’t seem so long ago that we were writing the 2010 letter. We know that this type of letter is now frowned upon by those who dictate fashion but we appreciate hearing all your news and I hope that it is reciprocated. So what have we been up to this year? As is now usual our Christmas news will be on the web at www.gwsjms.me.uk/xmas11.htm |
Holidays
In the spring we went for a week to the sun. Having visited La Palma the year before we thought that we would try Gran Canaria, in the Canaries. We stayed in the little village of Taurito on the south coast. The weather was beautiful and the hotel first class. Just what we needed after last winter in England!
Next year we are thinking of a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. Although we are not particularly struck on the cruise concept it does seem the best way of seeing that area.
Of course, we shall now have to see to the board and lodging of Megan while we are away.

Debbie & Chris
|
Mikie started school in September, although he was only 4 at the end of June, and seems to be taking it in his stride |
 |
Debora is on maternity leave at present but hope’s to go back to her job at Homebase in the spring. Christopher is still working for TalkTalk and hopefully will remain there but in this economic climate anything my happen |
Katherine & Santi |
Katherine remains at the Princess Hospital in Glasgow practising as a midwife and still enjoys her work but perhaps not her twelve hour shifts. Santi is now job hunting but is finding it doubly difficult in view of the economic situation & because Oscar is still at nursery in the mornings only.
Ivan started his second year at school in August and is thoroughly enjoying it . It is a pleasure to witness his budding reading and mathematical skills.

Work & Hobbies
Graham continues to be active in the local drama group, whose 30th anniversary we are celebrating in December with a slap up, formal meal and awards ceremony. This year he has been President of his Probus group and he continues with his masonic activities, chairing the Provincial IT committee as well as being Lodge Secretary and Divisional committee secretary and dog walking. He does find time sometimes to meet Janet!!!! |
|
On 1 st October our Community Association formally gave up running the Village Hall, after 35 years. The Church has now taken it back and is in the process of setting up a new management team. Not having to run down to the hall in the middle of the night to stop an alarm or switch off a light is not something that we miss! We were, however, dismayed when we received a solicitor's letter informing us that a prominent member of the Church was about to sue us for alleged disability discrimination. Thankfully the new vicar put a stop to that. Very hurtful none the less. |
Janet continues to enjoy her singing and is still Secretary of the Condate Singers and has now been elected Secretary of the Moulton Women’s’ Institute. Naturally she still has many mother hen duties towards the whole family. She is always busy. |
New Household Guest
A new addition to the household is Megan, a Staffie Terrier cross from the local dogs home. She is a very different character to Judy, our last dog and has so far chewed through quite a lot of our property! She is however, very friendly with children and other dogs but does have a penchant for chasing cars, which we need to curtail.

Christmas 2011
We are just experiencing the peace and quiet in the lead up to Christmas. We expect a full house this time with Kat & Santi, Chris & Debs, Deb's dad, Peter and of course all four boys. We should not forget the two dogs either. No doubt they will go around as mobile dustbins hoovering up scraps.
